The Roadmap

Crafting, exploration, diplomacy - what’s next?

This is a one-person-show, so we need to be smart with how we prioritize things. This roadmap outlines broad topics that will eventually be implemented and what’s currently in-progress.

🚧 Single player

Creating your own private worlds and controlling one or more characters in a simulated universe.

🚧 Travel

Navigating from point A to point B, the passage of time as you do so, and the semi-random encounters you face along the way. Enabling admins to create places.

🚧 Skills

Gaining experience, leveling skills, and acquiring abilities to unlock additional content. Enabling admins to create custom rulesets using advanced formulas.

🚧 Mapmaking

🚧 Multiplayer

Hosting your own custom servers for your friends or the public. Enabling admins to manage player permissions, whitelists, bans, etc.

🚧 Diplomacy

Talking with people, forming relationships, joining organizations, and completing quests. Enabling admins to create NPCs, organizations, and questlines.

🚧 Crafting

Harvesting resources, refining them into intermediate parts, and assembling them into useful things. Enabling admins to design custom crafting stations and recipes.

The possibilities are endless, but my time is not.

Fortunately, I have a secret weapon. I’ve spent long nights in the laboratory cobbling together a code-generation tool called Constructor.

So far it has generated 15,012 lines of code, making up ~63% of Untold Lore’s codebase.
